Sandra Naujoks started out her life with very different plans. She graduated after studying history and German and was planning to be a high school teacher. She gave that up in order to pursue graphic deign and modeling, both of which she was very good at. However, that has been put on the back-burner as she has now discovered her new calling in life – she has become a successful professional poker player. Naujoks lives in Berlin, Germany. Naujoks is known to have some eccentricities which stand her apart from many of her other opponents. Besides for her obviously poker playing skills and her beautiful looks, she is often seen at poker tables sporting a cowboy hat. She is also known to keep a pet snake at home and enjoys at least one Havana cigar each day.

Sandra Naujoks first found success playing online poker under the nickname "Black Mamba," perhaps as a tribute to her pet snake. She has since moved on from online poker games and has found plenty of success in live tournaments as well.

Major Poker Successes for Sandra Naujoks

Naujoks most impressive win to date was at the 2009 European Poker Tour (EPT) German Open €5,000 buy-in no limit hold'em event, which she won. She defeated Holger Kanisch to become the second-ever female champion of the Pokerstars.com event. She made the final table of eight in sixth place, but went on to win the event in front of a total field of 667 players. She took home €917,000 in prize money (which converted to $1,159,537 on the day of the event). The October before, in 2008, she won €174,000 (approximately $240,289 at the time) in the European $4,000 buy-in no limit hold'em championship at Baden in Austria. She defeated 163 contestants to win that tournament and it certainly set her in the spotlight. Other wins include 36th place in the 2009 EPT Monte Carlo Grand final season 5 no limit hold'em championship for $56,762. She placed 9th in the 2008 EPT Budapest no limit hold'em event and took home $10,444 in winnings. She placed 10th in the 2008 Bodensee Poker Championship no limit hold'em event to take home winnings of $1,638. Also in 2008, she placed 5th in the CAPT Graz Main Event no limit hold'em for prize money of $20,917. She was awarded the 2008 "Europe's Leading Lady" award at the European Poker Awards after her successes in 2008.
