Party Poker Network
Party Poker Network
Party Poker Network is one of the oldest and most established poker networks on the internet.
An Introduction to the Party Poker Network
Many times, you see companies losing their competitive edge as time passes, but that is not the case with Party Poker, one of the oldest poker networks around. The Party Poker network is owned and operated by PartyGaming Plc., which in turn is owned by iGlobalMedia, a company that was established in 1997. PartyGaming has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since June 30, 2005. It is licensed and regulated by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission and the Government of Gibraltar.
Earlier on, the Party Poker Network had a sharing agreement with its licensees – Intertops Poker, Eurobet Poker, Empire Poker, and MultiPoker – as far as traffic and players were concerned. However, it parted ways with these skins towards the end of 2005 and later bought Intertops Poker and MultiPoker. Even after the split, it continues to be the biggest network of poker players, and also has the biggest online poker room in Party Poker.
More about the Party Poker Network
At the PartyPoker Network, you can cash in on a number of fabulous promotions, including a cool first deposit bonus. There are other promotions in the form of freerolls and the cool Party Points rewards program. There are a number of tournaments on offer as well, including the fantastic Party Poker Million Tournament.
However, players from the US are not allowed at the Party Poker network. Though this means a sizeable reduction in traffic volumes, the network has managed to retain its standing as the top network in terms of traffic volume, a commendable feat in itself.
Traffic at the Party Poker Network
With a reputation as the largest poker network in terms of traffic, there is not much to say when it comes to traffic on the network except that it is fairly consistent all through the day. There is a sizeable crowd at the different rooms on the network even during regular non-peak hours. Statistical data compiled in May 2009 indicate that there are as many as 60,000 players at the different tournaments on the network during peak hours.
Software and Games at the Party Poker Network
The Party Poker network runs on the iGlobalMedia platform. The software also underwent a good deal of redesign in 2008, resulting in upgrades that now ensure excellent graphics and a cool interface.
While you do not get a no-download version of the software, there are download versions for Mac, PCs, and also Linux machines. It is this multi-platform compatibility that is also a major factor in the huge popularity that the network enjoys.
Other features that the software offers include a live action preview, advanced multi-table options, player images that can be customized, availability in multiple languages, and more.
The games available on the Party Poker network include Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, and 7 Card Stud in fixed limit, pot limit, and no limit options. The stakes available also vary, between $0.25/0.50 and $30/60 blinds.
